The Lord graciously saved Dan in 1973, when he was deeply involved in a cult (read Dan’s testimony here). Not long after conversion, Dan began training for pastoral ministry. His education in various institutes culminated in 1983 with a Master of Divinity from Talbot Theological Seminary. Dan then taught at Talbot and other Bible institutes and colleges, and he has pastored several churches from 1984 on. Dan married Valerie Phillips in March of 1989. They have four children: Rachael, Matthew, Josiah, and Jonathan.
In addition to teaching and preaching in churches, Dan developed an online ministry including the popular Pyromaniacs blog. Two of Dan’s manuscripts were published in 2011: The World-Tilting Gospel and God's Wisdom in Proverbs. Dan's ministry at CBC began in March of 2012. He and Valerie love the lives God has given them in Texas, and they love serving and worshiping the Lord with their church family.
